Slick New Portable Device – the Creative Zen Vision:M

Hi- it’s Steve from Y! Music Business Development. I wanted to write a quick post about a hot new device – the Creative Zen Vision:M. This is the ultimate hard disk video device on the market right now hands down. You really have to see the screen to believe it, it is dazzling. Music, movies, photos – there is room (30GB) for everything – and the interface is quick and easy. All the cool kids have one. The vertical touch pad UI is super slick, there is FM for all the sports fans and news junkies, and a slick microphone with voice recorder for any blackmailing opportunities that present themselves.
Of course a Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go subscription is a must. The new Drive By Truckers album got an immediate drag and drop a few weeks ago, and the new Pearl Jam bits are flying over as I write this. I am also never without my personal copy of Glengarry Glen Ross (“Coffee is for Closers”), Game 5 of the 1986 ALCS (Hendu’s homer – thanks Adam), and video and photos of my boys riding scooters on the Santa Monica strand. That, as they say, is how I roll.
Congrats to Lisa, Pamela, Adam, Robert, Richard and the rest of the team over at Creative Labs on a great device. Looking forward to the YMU compatible flash device!
It comes in 5 colors (express yourself) and can be found at all the major retailers as well as at the Creative Labs’ web site. Road warriors (like me) should also never leave home without Creative’s equally slick portable speakers.

Useful info for me, thanks. I’m trying to migrate my online musical life to be more compatible with YME, and am happy to learn about the portable devices that are compatible. Yeah, it may be an ad, but what else did you expect when you read the headline?!?!

I refuse to take full credit for all the buzz surrounding the Pearl Jam album.
Seriously, apologies if this came off as an ad – Y! isn’t selling the device nor do we have a stake in Creative etc. Working at this stuff since before the iPod came out, its exciting that some truly great devices that work well with our subscription music service are hitting the market. Since we don’t make any hardware of our own nor sell any hardware directly, I wanted to get the word out to the enthusiasts about a device I feel I can endorse. I have drawers full of MP3 players (including the ones with the white earbuds), and this is indeed what I roll with.

That’s what happens when you give the Business Development guys access to the blog…
Just kidding, Steve. You know I love you.
Seriously, though, Steve really likes that device so he wanted to post about it. Seems legit to me.
I haven’t tried it yet, personally. HINT HINT.

I saw the Vision M at CES this year, and I gotta back Steve up. It’s pretty awesome – very slick and the screen quality is nice. Cool device.
If only our good friends at Creative would send some over…c’mon Steve!
(and no, I don’t own any shares of Creative)
